(15) House Histories in Kilsby

Detailed histories have been researched and written for about half a dozen of Kilsby's oldest houses - these mostly go back as far as the late 1700s or early 1800s.
By comparing and combining the histories of a number of individual houses, it has been possible to learn more about social life in Kilsby during this period - from the furnishings and contents of the houses, the number of rooms and their specific uses, to the economic situation of their inhabitants, and the ways in which they reacted to the impacts of Enclosure, Industrial Revolution, Napoleonic War etc.
For reasons of personal privacy and security, detailed data about individual houses is restricted in circulation and is not published openly on this site; but information may be made available to bona fide researchers, at the discretion of the administrator of this site, and of the owners of the properties in question.
