NOTIFICATION OF WATERPROOFING WORKS M1 junction 18 Crick Bridge

I’m writing to let you know that we’ll be carrying out essential renewal works to the waterproofing system on Crick bridge at junction 18 of the M1. During our scheme of work we’ll plane off the existing carriageway surface, remove and replace the existing waterproofing system and then resurface the carriageway. Once competed, our work will prevent water leaking onto the bridge decks, which in turn will protect the structure.

When will the work take place?

Work is due to start on 21 June 2024 and is scheduled for completion by 29 July 2024.

We’ll work under full weekend closures on selected weekends from 8pm on Friday until 6am on Monday, in one direction at a time.

Please note that all our planned roadworks may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

How will the work affect traffic? To minimise disruption to the local community, residents, businesses and road users and also to keep our programme for these works as short as possible, our weekend closures are scheduled as follows Northbound Carriageway Closures

• from 8pm Friday 21 June until 6am Monday 24 June

• from 8pm Friday 28 June until 6am Monday 1 July Southbound Carriageway Closures

• from 8pm Friday 19 July until 6am Monday 22 July

• from 8pm Friday 26 July until 6am Monday 29 July During these closures, fully signed diversion routes will be in place which have been agreed with the Local Authority.

How will the work affect businesses and residents? Due to the nature of the work being carried out during these carriageway closures, we’ll be unable to provide any access to any vehicles, including the emergency services. Please be aware that long delays are expected so please avoid the area and only travel if your journey is essential.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will do our very best to complete the work as quickly as possible, keeping disturbances and noise to a minimum. Contact us If you have any questions or if you would like further information about this work, you can:
